Molecular single - particle excitations in heavy - ion reactions involving deformed light nuclei

چکیده
Two-center level diagrams for the neutron orbitals in the scattering of '60 on "Mg and of "0 on 24Mg are calculated by using a deformed potential for 24,25Mg. Possible consequences of the nuclear Landau-Zener mechanism, namely the promotion of nucleons at avoided level crossings, and of the rotational coupling between crossing molecular singleparticle orbitals are studied for inelastic excitation and neutron transfer. The important excitation and transfer processes, which are enhanced by the promotion process and the rotational coupling, are presented.

Nuclear alpha-clustering, superdeformation, and quasimolecular resonances
Nuclear alpha-clustering has been the subject of intense study since the advent of heavy-ion accelerators. Looking back for more than 40 years we are able today to see the connection between quasimolecular resonances in heavy-ion collisions and extremely deformed states in light nuclei. For example superdeformed bands have been recently discovered in light N=Z nuclei such as 36Ar, 40Ca, 48Cr, a...
متن کامل[in2p3-00824243, v1] Rotating hyperdeformed quasi-molecular states formed in capture of light nuclei and in collision of very heavy ions
Within a rotational liquid drop model including the nuclear proximity energy the l-dependent potential barriers governing the capture reactions of light nuclei and of very heavy ions have been determined. Rotating quasi-molecular hyperdeformed states appear at high angular momenta. The energy range of these very deformed high spin states is given for light systems. The same approach explains th...
متن کاملSemi-microscopic calculations of the fusion barrier distributions for reactions involving deformed target nuclei
The double-folding model with an M3Y effective nucleon-nucleon (NN) interaction was applied to obtain the angle-dependent bare nucleus-nucleus potential for heavy-ion fusion reactions involving deformed target nuclei. The angular dependence with a zero-range exchange NN interaction is almost identical to that with a finite-range interaction, allowing quick calculations of the fusion cross secti...

We discuss the effects of fast nuclear excitations on heavy-ion fusion reactions at energies near and below the Coulomb barrier. Using the fusion of two 40 Ca nuclei as an example and the inversion method, we show that the mass renormalization induced by fast nuclear excitations leads to a large surface diffuseness in the effective potential for heavy-ion fusion reactions.
متن کاملRealistic Interactions and Configuration Mixing in Fermionic Molecular Dynamics
In Fermionic Molecular Dynamics the occurrence of multifragmentation depends strongly on the intrinsic structure of the many-body state. Slater determinants with narrow single-particle states and a cluster substructure show multifragmentation in heavy-ion collisions while those with broad wave functions, which resemble more a shell-model picture, deexcite by particle emission. Which of the two ...
